I have expensive taste in collections. Which would not be unfortunate except that I am not a millionaire.

I collect musical instruments. Big musical instruments.

Basses.

My blood-red electric bass, Floyd (short for Sergeant Floyd Pepper) is currently the only member of my collection. Not too expensive yet. But the wish list looks like this:

– a really really good electric bass, name Zoot
– a fretless electric bass, named Dr. Teeth (because it has none)
– a dark wood double bass, named Janice
– a red microfibre double bass, named Animal

Yes, they’re all named after members of Electric Mayhem, the Muppet band. I’m cool like that.

I’m also likely to be dirt poor.

And relatively absurd looking, as I’m 5’2″ and planning on all my instruments being full-sized. Quite a comical sight, I expect.

But despite this, I’ll be happy. And cool. Maybe even a little punk, in a weird classical jazz kind of way.
